Welcome April! Sunshine and Flowers Soon to Come!

Welcome April! Sunshine and Flowers Soon to Come!

Facts are facts, and learning is terrific, but we are much deeper from the core. Happy, and sad, being mad, angry, and scared too. These are all good. We have feelings to spur us on, protect us, and more. We are all a product of our experiences, and that is why they should be as good as they can be. Every child is entitled to the finest ones, and every parent should know how to provide them. There is not a moment to waste.

Here is my idea that I made up after reading the new book Mattie Motormouth by world-renowned parenting specialist Jean Tracy. She’s the best!

“Every child should have a poem,” for real!

I am free.

I love me.

I am eight.

That is great.

I am smart.

Good at art.

Enter AI

It can do this.

It can do that!

It can do anything and everything almost, but it cannot “feel.”

The Stakes are Very High!

A is for “Artificial,” oh dear, what is that?

I is “Intelligence,” I smell a rat.

Smart as we are with our worldly prowess, it’s time to go slowly and not to digress.

It’s the brain that we have and that no one can hack. It is smart; it can lead and can keep us on track. It’s our brains that we have that can show what we know, like not to go places where we should not go.

“Science is science,” our leaders profess, but people are people who all hate great stress. “Nature’s” the word with the highest of clout. No way in the world we should leave that part out.

Feelings

run our lives.

AI is full of information, more facts and figures than any of us ever would have imagined, but it does not have “feelings.” We do. We are made of the “real” stuff.

You can talk to “It” as much as you want, but it does not get happy or sad, angry or mad, fearful or scared, and not ever glad.

What is a parent or grandparent to do?

Be careful. Provide as much of an optimal environment as possible at all times with “real” people. Begin with love, and then everything else flows from there. Each contact growing children have is important and helps to form who they are and also who they will be. Every single one of them depends on us for guidance … right from the start.

Facts and figures are all part of it, but feelings lead the way.
